Melinda's Home Away from Home childcare

I have been a licensed at home childcare provider since November 1992. Kids excite me. Everything is new to a child. I love their curiosity. Life without kids would be dull. I like to see their faces light up when they "get it" and are proud of themselves for achieving challenges. We have a nice sized toy room and a big, shaded yard. In the Spring we incubate eggs and hatch out chicks or guineas. That is always exciting. Another activity that sticks out is everyone colors a box; we make a tunnel with them. I cut, glue and string lights in their decorated boxes. Then at Halloween after we have our fun with it, we set it out for the trick or treaters to go through. The kids love this. We do crafts for the seasons. Friday is candy day meaning when the child is picked up on Friday, he/she can pick a piece of candy. On the child's birthday they get to help make brownies to celebrate their special day. In the summer we enjoy water fun. We walk 8 blocks to my horse a couple times a year on a nice day so the kids can enjoy this.
